Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home by using a combined gross household income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and here TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to read more wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now my nsfas and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
